Mr Promising Start is the artist name of long time DJ and promoter Seth Raknes. Hailing from Oslo Norway, he has consistently been a peddler of different variations and sub-genres of club focused music. His debut release "I Wish I Was Better At This" is a carefully crafted album project that emcompases the aforementioned passion for different landscapes within electronica, but also sprinkled with references to modern pop in addition to a distinct nod to a fascination for film scores and ambient textures.

Written and recorded in 5 different countries spanning a period of over 6 years, the release is finally scheduled to drop on his newly founded label, Laugna Luminosa. Thus, the DIY mantra that has been present for the entire process comes full circle with exactly what was intended from the starting point: an uncompromised, divulging and therapeutic exercise. Made with the main purpose of completing a vision articulating deep rooted subjective feelings and associations, rather than trying to fit any predetermined molds or cater to current trends. It's meditative club music that is made to work on a big system at your favourite rave, as well as at home in front of the fireplace.
